NOVEMBER 2004 EDITION

The Genius Personality ( Part 1 )

Dear Subscribers,

In my previous edition, of October 2004, I defined major types of intelligence present in every human being. In this edition, I am discussing about the “The Genius Personality” what does it mean, understanding several common myths about the geniuses and clearing our minds with the help of examples.

When I asked people from various disciplines about as to how an ideal genius or prodigy child would look like? The usual understanding was of an individual with big glasses, skinny physic, and big head with quite and introvert nature.

This concept directs towards
An individual who is entirely involved within own self, with no ambition, no energies and no concern about what goes about out side in the world.

It seemed awkward to me because the geniuses I know were not at all like that They were exactly the opposite of what is commonly though of a genius. Some of the major examples are as follow

Alexander ( The Great )
The warrior king of all times. Personality with immaculate planning head, a ingenious war tactician, great physical specimen, unique mental brilliance and immense administrative capability. Not only this but the selection of broad headed & giant horse was one of the great factors in his success. An individual with great capability to use situations to his own favor.

Leonardo Da Vinci
A great artist. His research on modern day aerodynamics in that time helped Right brothers to attain first flight in the history. A person with intellectual though process and graceful athletic physic. He could write different languages with both hands, and that too with same speed.

Emperor Akber ( The Great )
The greatest ruler Indian sub-continent has ever seen. With a commanding personality he ruled India like none other. Not only his empire was growing day by day but his wisdom to soften the differences between Muslims and Hindus was unmatchable. The most dominant genius of his was that he formed the group of nine versatile masters of different traits who use to assist him, commonly known as “nine exclusive masters of Akber” or in local language “Akber kay nau Ratan”.

Goethe
The person who is considered to have the highest IQ on the planet. He used more than 50,000 different words in his poetry that is twice as much of the words used by William Shakespeare in his entire work. He was more than 6 feet tall with very strong features and he mastered the art of inter personal skills.

Albert Einstein
Said to be the most prominent genius of all time. Possessed great energy to perform, to think and to prove things beyond limits. His theory of relativity is one fine example of this. Today his personality is symbol of genius.

Mohammad Ali
I always remember his words “I float like a butterfly and sting like a bee”. The person with immense brain-physical coordination to an extent that he could deliver seven punches in a single second. He gave new dimension to the sport of boxing. A man of principles. A great sport psychologist with very high self respect and self esteem. Today leading players from different sports copy his moves in and out side of the ring. A legend who is suffering from the Perkins’s disease but still he says “you are the best but remember who is the greatest.”

When we look at the world’s greatest geniuses we come to know that the common perception about the genius is entirely wrong. Great geniuses have shown incredible energies, visionary power, interpersonal skills, high inquisitiveness, motivation, perseverance and firm commitment to goal.

So, it is evident that a genius personality is one who cleverly engages all intelligences present in human being to attain desired results. If you look around you would find that those individuals always have more to cheer about are those who are more vigilant, emotionally stable, socially well knitted, who have better knowledge of what they are doing and what others are expecting of them.

By this we have come to a conclusion that it is not essential that one should be a born genius, but the word genius is a collective noun which is the combination of several intelligences knitted together to attain desired results. One can gain command over it by practice. A genius personality can be formed in any field, any culture, any race, any social background and any religion.

In my opinion any one who desires can be a genius. You can be one yourself. Decision is yours.
